1. From 24 February 2022 to 9 April 2023, Ukraine recorded 8,740 adult casualties of unknown sex.

Out of the 8,740 casualties, 6,829 were injured, and 1,911 perished.

2. Almost half of the Ukrainian male casualties between Feb. 2022 to April 2023 lost their lives.

Ukrainian male casualties totaled 7,663, including 3,817 killed and 3,846 injured.

11. European Union (EU) sanctioned 1,473 Russian individuals and 205 entities as of February 25, 2023.

Of the 44 killed civilians, 22 were men, 11 were women, and 11 were adults of unknown sex. Out of the 119 injured, 34 were men, 26 were women, 2 were boys, a girl, and 56 were adults of unknown sex.

34. The United States delivered weapons worth over $18.1 billion to Ukraine from January to November 2022.

Germany came second with over $4 billion in weapons delivery.

35. Estonia contributed 1.07% of its GDP in bilateral aid to Ukraine between January 2022 and January 2023.

So far, the country has delivered 250 units to Ukraine to aid its war efforts. 

The United States also committed 50 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles IFV and 4 Unspecified Command Post Carriers APC.

39. Germany delivered 50 MRAP vehicle DINGO AUVs to Ukraine between Jan. 2022 and Jan. 2023.

It committed 10 Protected AUVs and delivered 30, committed 40 MARDER IFVs, delivered 15 Bergepanzer 2 ARV, committed 10 Mobile and protected mine clearing system ARV, and delivered 4.

Ukraine War Damages Statistics

40. As of 2022, estimates put damages to the Ukrainian housing stock at $54 billion.

149,300 residential structures were destroyed, including 280 dorms, 17,500 apartment buildings, and 131,400 single-family homes.

41. In 2022, Russia destroyed Ukrainian educational institutions worth $8.6 billion.

Over 3,000 educational facilities were devastated, including 1,400 secondary schools, 865 preschools, and 505 higher education facilities.

42. As of December 2022, the damages to Ukrainian cultural, sports, and religious facilities hit around $2.2 billion.

There were 1,327 facilities damaged, including 95 religious, 168 sporting, 907 cultural, and 157 tourism-related.

Other Ukraine War Statistics

44. Around 4 in 10 countries in 2022 favor keeping Russia on as a diplomatic partner.

This was mainly in Indonesia (73%), India (66%), and Turkey (62%). 

Conversely, residents of Poland (21%) and the United States (33%) were the least in favor.

45. There were about 5,600 Nigerians in Ukraine in 2022, most of whom were students.

As of February 2022, 256 Nigerians in Ukraine sought refuge in Hungary, Poland, and Romania. Likewise, the diplomatic mission from Nigeria welcomed 130 people, 52 arrived in Warsaw and 74 in Budapest.

46. Russia controlled 7% of Ukraine before the invasion on February 24, 2022.
