IPVanish doesn’t accept gift card payments on its website in any region, preferring other payment methods.
However, you can still grab an IPVanish subscription using a gift card with clever workarounds, which I’ll show you below.
Alternatively, you can skip to my recommended IPVanish alternatives that officially support gift card payments.
Alternative Ways to Pay for IPVanish Using Gift Cards?
IPVanish supports Google Pay and Amazon Pay payment options.
These payment providers can be funded with gift cards before using them to purchase the VPN subscription.
I’ve shared stepwise guides for each method below.
How to Pay for IPVanish via Google Pay Gift Cards?
You must have purchased a Google Play gift card equal to, or more than, the amount of your IPVanish plan before you try this method.
Here’s what to do in detail:
- Purchase a Google Play gift card.
- Redeem the Google Play gift card to your preferred Google Pay account. Watch the video below to learn how.
- Go to the IPVanish website (get discounts here).
- Click “Get IPVanish.”

- Choose a preferred plan. I recommend the 2-year plan to get the best savings from my discount deal. Note that you get no discounts with the monthly plan.
- Scroll down to enter your email address.

- Scroll down and click “Google Pay.”
- Click the payment method again and follow the on-screen prompts to complete your payment.

How to Pay for IPVanish via Amazon Gift Cards?
Paying for IPVanish using an Amazon gift card is like the Google Pay option.
Here’s what to do:
- Purchase an Amazon gift card.
- Redeem the Amazon gift card to your Amazon Pay account. Here’s a video guide to help you.
- Repeat steps 3-6 from above.
- Click “Amazon Pay”

- Click the payment method again and follow the on-screen prompts to complete your payment.
IPVanish Alternatives That Officially Accept Gift Cards
While the workarounds above still allow you to pay for IPVanish using a gift card, your gift card options are limited.
Likewise, the gift card payment is supposed to keep you anonymous.
But Google Pay or Amazon Pay still connects the payment to your account.
That’s why I explored alternative VPN service providers that allow gift card payments officially.
Surfshark – Gift Card Payments on Mobile

Surfshark allows users to pay for its VPN service with gift cards, but only via mobile.
The upside is that paying on mobile gives you access to its unlimited simultaneous connections and every other VPN feature. However, you may have to forgo direct Surfshark support since account issues (like refunds) will now be handled by your mobile service provider (Apple or Google) instead of Surfshark.
But that aside, this VPN offers 3200+ servers, compared to IPVanish’s 2200+.
And Surfshark covers 100 countries, while IPVanish boasts 75 locations in fewer countries.
Follow the Surfshark gift card payment guide below to learn the official and alternative ways to pay for the VPN with this anonymous option.
PureVPN – Gift Card Payments on Mobile and PC

PureVPN shines by allowing gift card payments on PC and mobile devices.
It also supports many gift card options rather than being limited to iTunes or Google Play gift cards.
Just pay via Payment Wall, a PureVPN-supported payment service, and choose any of your preferred gift cards.
While PureVPN’s ten simultaneous connections are no match for IPVanish’s unlimited offering, you get 6500+ servers on it. That’s about 3x of what IPVanish offers.
Combine that with the option to get dedicated PureVPN IPs with gift cards plus extra port forwarding support, and switching to this provider starts making sense.
Pay Your Own Way
If you’re uncompromising in your need to pay for IPVanish via gift cards, explore its alternative gift card payment approaches above. Remember to save more with these HUGE IPVanish deals while at it.
But if you care more about your financial anonymity while grabbing the VPN, choose Surfshark (discounts here) or PureVPN (discounts here). These two offer what you want, especially PureVPN, which doesn’t tie its gift card payment to any account.
