MSI × Surfshark Deal: What MSI Owners Get and How It Compares (2026)

Yes, MSI has a real Surfshark deal: buy a 1- or 2-year Surfshark plan through MSI’s own Surfshark page and you get 4 extra months, with no code. MSI announced it on its blog on 28 October 2025, and the extra months were still being added when we checked on 22 October 2026.

Side by side, it barely differs from Surfshark’s standard deal. With MSI’s offer applied, 2-year Starter or One cost $66.92 for 28 months ($2.39 a month). Surfshark’s own Black Friday deal, which needs no code and no MSI hardware, charged $67.23 for 27 months ($2.49 a month). Practically the same price, and the standard deal is one click from here.

What Is the MSI × Surfshark Deal?

It’s a partner offer MSI runs with Surfshark for people who own MSI hardware. In MSI’s words: “Buy a 1 or 2-year Surfshark plan through MSI, and you’ll automatically get 4 extra months — no codes, no hassle.”

MSI says the offer covers most of its hardware: motherboards, graphics cards, power supplies, PC cases, cooling, keyboards, mice and other peripherals, desktop and all-in-one PCs, and monitors. Laptops aren’t named on the list. MSI was still promoting the 4 extra months on its Instagram account on 30 July 2026.

The partnership began a few months earlier. Surfshark announced it on 8 July 2025 with two smaller perks: members of the MSI Reward Program could swap 25 points for a one-month trial of Surfshark One, and selected products in MSI’s summer sale, which ran until 22 July 2025 in its German, French, Spanish and Polish online stores, came with the same one-month trial.

MSI Deal vs Surfshark’s Standard Deal

Both columns come from Surfshark’s own prices for US buyers, in US dollars before sales tax, on 22 October 2026:

On Starter and One the two totals are 31 cents apart, and on One+ $1.61. During Surfshark’s Black Friday sale, One costs the same as Starter on both routes, so it’s the plan I’d pick: for the same money it adds Surfshark Antivirus, Alert breach monitoring and scam protection to the VPN.

How to Claim the MSI Surfshark Offer

MSI’s own steps are short:

1. Open MSI’s announcement and follow its link to the MSI × Surfshark offer page on Surfshark’s site.
2. Pick a 1-year or 2-year plan. The page opens on 2-year Surfshark One.
3. Check the order summary before you pay: MSI says the 4-month bonus is applied automatically at checkout, with no promo code.
4. Pay, then install Surfshark on your MSI PC and log in. Our Surfshark for Windows guide has the steps.

How Everyone Else Gets Practically the Same Price

You don’t need MSI hardware or a code for Surfshark’s standard deal:

1. Open Surfshark’s Black Friday deal; the discount loads with the page.
2. Keep the 24-month plan selected: it’s the one with the $2.49 monthly price.
3. Choose One, which costs the same $67.23 as Starter right now, or Starter if you only want the VPN.
4. Create your account, pay, and install Surfshark on every device you own: one plan covers unlimited devices.

Surfshark hasn’t said when its Black Friday sale ends; the 2025 sale ended on 1 December. Our Surfshark Black Friday guide follows it, the Surfshark coupon page lists every other discount we could verify, and the Surfshark price guide compares every plan and length.

What’s the Reddit “Do Not Install” MSI Post About?

It’s about MSI Center, not Surfshark. The post, titled “PSA to anyone using MSI hardware - DO NOT INSTALL MSI CENTER”, went up on r/MSI_Gaming on 23 January 2025, six months before the Surfshark partnership began. Its author said MSI Center, MSI’s own utility for hardware monitoring, lighting and updates, had cut their frame rates and Wi-Fi speeds by repeatedly switching the PC into power-saving mode, and that Windows’ uninstaller left parts of it running.

The replies were split. Several MSI owners said they’d never had a problem, and one suggested reinstalling an older MSI Center version with Microsoft Store updates switched off. The post doesn’t mention Surfshark, and neither MSI nor Surfshark says the VPN comes with MSI Center: you get Surfshark by buying a plan and installing Surfshark’s own app. The PSA has no bearing on the deal.

Is Surfshark Worth It on an MSI PC?

For most MSI owners, yes:

• No device cap. One plan covers unlimited devices, so a gaming desktop, a laptop, phones and a streaming stick can all stay connected at once.
• A full Windows app. It runs on 64-bit Windows 10 and on Windows 11, ARM-based PCs included, with WireGuard, a kill switch, the CleanWeb ad blocker and Bypasser split tunneling.
• Privacy claims that were checked. Deloitte assessed Surfshark’s no-logs policy in 2023 and 2025, and its servers have run from RAM since July 2020.
• A big network. 4,500+ servers in 100 countries.

When NordVPN Is the Better Pick

NordVPN, Surfshark’s sister company, suits gamers who want the bigger network: 7,000+ servers in 150 countries on its WireGuard-based NordLynx protocol, and a no-logs policy that has passed six independent assessments. Its Black Friday deal takes up to 78% off and adds 3 extra months; 2-year Basic costs $3.49 a month ($94.23 for 27 months), and one account covers 10 devices. Our Surfshark vs NordVPN comparison goes through the differences.
