You can access Qobuz with NordVPN by installing the NordVPN app on your device. Then, connect to a compatible server and register for the music streaming service!
However, if you’re trying to listen to Qobuz on your Samsung TV, you must set up the VPN on your Wi-Fi router.
Alternatively, you can share your NordVPN connection to your smart TV from your PC via a Windows Mobile Hotspot.
I’ll take you through all 3 methods in this guide.
How to Create a Qobuz Account With NordVPN?
You can create a Qobuz account with NordVPN by connecting to a NordVPN server in one of these countries:
- Argentina
- Australia
- Austria
- Belgium
- Brazil
- Canada
- Chile
- Colombia
- Denmark
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Ireland
- Italy
- Luxembourg
- Netherlands
- Mexico
- New Zealand
- Norway
- Portugal
- Spain
- Sweden
- Switzerland
- United Kingdom
- United States
Here are the steps:
- Sign up for NordVPN.
- Download and install the VPN application to your smartphone or computer.
- Launch the VPN app and log in.
- Click the globe icon to access the NordVPN server menu. If you don’t see your preferred server location, click the down arrow to open the full list.
- Connect to a server in one of the 25 countries where Qobuz is available. In my case, I chose the US.
- Open the Qobuz website and click “TRY FOR FREE” to sign up.
- Enter your details or sign up with Facebook.
- Select your preferred payment method and enter your details to subscribe and get a 1-month free trial.
- You can now stream or download your favorite songs on Qobuz from Russia, Mexico, Israel, and other countries where the digital music store is yet to launch. I vibed to Fleetwood Mac’s Go Your Own Way!
Once you create your Qobuz account, you can stream your favorite songs from any country without connecting to NordVPN. However, your music library is restricted to the server location you signed up in.
How to Download the Qobuz App on PC With NordVPN?
After creating your account, follow the steps below to download the Qobuz app for Windows and macOS.
- With NordVPN active, click “Our ecosystem” on the Qobuz website homepage.
- Select your streaming device to download the Qobuz app.
- Select the right installation file for your operating system.
- Install the Qobuz app and log in.
- Browse the Discover section for new releases, personalized playlists, songs by mood, or albums from your favorite artists.
How to Download Qobuz on Mobile With NordVPN?
The Qobuz application is geo-restricted on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
The good news is you can circumvent this. If you’re using an iPhone, create a new Apple ID with your region set to one of the 25 countries where Qobuz is available.
Alternatively, you can change your current Apple ID’s region.
But I don’t recommend this method if you have active subscriptions, movie rentals, season passes, or are in a Family Sharing group.
Likewise, Android users need a new Google Play Store account or at least one that doesn’t have payment details or a set region.
Here are the steps I used to download Qobuz on Android with NordVPN:
- Connect to NordVPN.
- Long press on the Google Play Store app and click the information icon.
- Select Storage and click “Clear data” to remove cached information that may tell Google your real location with NordVPN active.
- Open Google Play and search “Qobuz” and the app should now be available for download.
- Click “Install” and log in to access your Qobuz playlists and favorites.
If you wish to avoid creating a new Google Play account or changing your region, you can sideload the Qobuz app.
Its APK file is available on most third-party hosting websites like APKPure and APKMirror. However, run any file through VirusTotal before opening it.
How to Download Qobuz on Smart TV With NordVPN?
There are a few ways to set up NordVPN on your Smart TV to download the Qobuz app if it’s not immediately available. If you’re using an Android or Amazon Fire TV, NordVPN has a native app you can install.
For Samsung Smart TVs, you can set up the VPN via a router or share your PC’s VPN connection through a mobile hotspot.
Besides its VPN service, NordVPN offers a Smart DNS service for downloading Qobuz on Samsung TV.
It doesn’t cost extra and offers faster speeds than your standard NordVPN connection for a quicker experience.
Here is how to download the Qobuz Smart TV app with NordVPN via Smart DNS:
- Log in to your NordVPN account dashboard on your browser.
- Click the NordVPN tab near the top-left corner.
- Navigate to the SmartDNS section found under “Additional features” and click “Enable.”
- When prompted, click “Activate SmartDNS.”
- A message will appear informing you that the provider will notify you via email once Smart DNS is activated and your Smart DNS addresses are available. Click “Ok, got it.”
- Copy or write down the Smart DNS addresses.
- Power your Smart TV and open Network Settings.
I’ll use a Samsung Smart TV–which offers native support for Qobuz–to take you through the setup process.
- In the Network Menu, select Network Status.
- Select IP Settings.
- Under IP Settings, press DNS Setting.
- Select “Enter Manually” and input the Smart DNS addresses provided by NordVPN.
- Save your new DNS settings and launch your smart TV’s app store.
- Download and launch the Qobuz app on your TV to stream your favorite songs and discover new ones.
Can NordVPN Stream Qobuz in Hi-Res?
NordVPN can stream Qobuz in Hi-Res. The VPN is super-fast and barely impacted my connection during my tests.
When connected to its UK server, it only slowed my connection by 14%.
Since you require 10Mbps to stream Qobuz in Hi-Res, you need at least 11.62 Mbps to listen to The Rolling Stones’ Let it Bleed album without buffering.
This is perfect for users who want to listen to Qobuz in restricted locations (work, school, etc.)!
Does NordVPN Split Tunneling Work With Qobuz?
NordVPN’s split tunneling works with Qobuz, protecting your other apps while using the music app with your normal internet connection.
Thus, you enjoy maximum speeds for an uninterrupted hi-res music experience.
Here are the steps for enabling NordVPN split-tunneling:
- Launch NordVPN and go to Settings.
- Select “Split tunneling.”
- Click the field next to “Type” and select “Disable VPN for Selected Apps.”
- Click “Add Apps.”
- Select the Qobuz app (and the Qobuz downloader, if you have it installed) and click “Add selected.”
- Go back to Settings > Split tunneling and click “Selected apps” to confirm that split tunneling is enabled for Qobuz.
You can now stream music on Qobuz while using NordVPN for other activities like unblocking betting sites. I streamed Led Zeppelin’s Stairway to Heaven while wagering NFL overs on FanDuel outside the US.
Access Qobuz From Anywhere With NordVPN
Whether you use Qobuz to download tracks or stream music on the go, NordVPN is an excellent choice.
It allows you to sign up for Qobuz and download the music app from anywhere in the world. The VPN also prevents ISPs and school networks from throttling your Qobuz traffic so you can listen to your playlist non-stop without lags.
