By 2026, this figure is anticipated to reach 230.6 million. The average annual expenditure per person is also expected to rise to $7,250.

3. In 2022, Amazon dominated the online business landscape with $513.98 billion in revenue.

Apple came in second with $394.33 in revenue. The online companies that followed include Google ($279.8 billion), Meta ($116.61 billion), and Netflix ($31.62 billion).

This is compared to 49% in 2021. Meanwhile, credit card usage for the same purpose is anticipated to reduce from 21% in 2021 to 19% in 2025.

5. The global online clothing and apparel sales are forecasted to total $1.2 trillion by 2025.

In contrast, the market was worth $668 billion in 2021.

Mobile commerce was the most prominent in the Asia Pacific, representing nearly 80% of online retail sales in the region.

More than 63% of SMBs in Australia sold goods and services online that year.

10. Chewy.com emerged as the top online pet supplies business in the US in 2021, generating $8,891 million.

Petsmart.com ranked second with $1,046 million in net revenue.

Online stores that followed include petco.com ($547 million), barkbox.com ($405 million), and 1800petmeds.com ($228 million).

11. By May 2021, the United Kingdom boasted 406,000 online retail businesses, nearly twice Germany's.

The disparity between France and Italy was lesser, as France had approximately 270,000 online retailers, while Italy had an estimated 246,000 online retailers.

13. In both the United States and the United Kingdom, fast delivery emerged as the primary influencing factor in customers’ online purchase decisions in January 2022.

59% of respondents emphasized the importance of fast delivery.

14. In 2021, 62% of SME respondents globally used e-commerce software.

Among those not utilizing Ecommerce software at the time of the survey, 23% indicated that they had no intention to adopt it within the next twelve months.

To counter this, 34% planned to optimize their mobile-device websites, and 17% aimed to integrate voice search.

Similarly, Ecommerce/Retail stores accounted for 4% of phishing attacks in that period.
