If you want to watch TLC from outside the US, ExpressVPN is the best VPN for TLC.
It’s been my sidekick for binging 90 Day Fiancé and all its spin-offs since moving to Europe.
Plus, it’s the fastest VPN on my list (if not the fastest ever), so you’ll enjoy HD and 4K streaming on all your favorite devices, including Smart TVs.
But I also list worthy alternatives, like Surfshark and NordVPN – so read till the end for the full scoop!
Top 3 VPNs for TLC
Surfshark is the only VPN on my list with free static servers (included with any subscription). This means you can use the same IP address to access TLC on any platform, whether Hulu, Sling TV, or DirecTV Stream. You’ll also get 600+ regular US servers for unblocking TLC worldwide.
ExpressVPN might only have 24 US servers, but it’s still the most reliable VPN for accessing TLC, whether through the TLC Go website/app, Hulu, Sling TV, or any other platform. You’ll also get MediaStreamer for watching your favorite shows on your Smart TV or game console.
NordVPN has the most US servers on my list – 1970+! This makes unblocking TLC effortless, no matter the platform you choose. On top of that, NordVPN has blazing-fast streaming speeds and support for most TLC devices. And that’s not even mentioning the Dedicated US IP add-on.
I’ll get straight to it – you can’t enjoy TLC from anywhere without a VPN that has US servers.
On top of that, you need a VPN with fast speeds so that you can enjoy buffer-free streaming in 4K.
The ability to watch your favorite TLC shows on your preferred streaming device(s) is also worth considering.
Luckily, all of the VPNs on my list are excellent choices. Let’s take a closer look!

What Are the Best VPNs for TLC?
In the following reviews, you’ll learn why each VPN service on my list is a reliable choice for unblocking TLC worldwide.
You’ll also discover unique features and in-depth comparisons meant to help you make a final decision on the best VPN for your TLC needs.
Here we go!
ExpressVPN – Fastest VPN for TLC & MediaStreamer for Smart TVs
ExpressVPN is a solid start to my list of the most reliable VPNs for unblocking TLC.
Let’s start with its US servers.
There are 24 of them. Doesn’t seem like a lot, right? Especially compared to NordVPN’s 1970+ and CyberGhost’s 1753+.
The catch is that ExpressVPN regularly switches its server IPs.
This is a clever tactic and probably why I never struggle unblocking TLC to binge 90 Day Fiancé, Happily Ever After, Before the 90 Days, etc.
In fact, ExpressVPN is the best VPN on my list for unblocking any content.
This is why I don’t consider its 24 US servers a bad thing. Rather, I see it as 23 other servers to try if the first doesn’t unblock TLC.
Though, I always get access on my first try!
Another reason ExpressVPN’s small US server network doesn’t concern me is because it still scored first in my speed tests.
So, network congestion isn’t an issue!
Specifically, my base speed of 96.51 Mbps dropped by 14.23 Mbps.
Keep in mind I used a US server for my test. Considering I’m in Slovakia, that’s a mighty impressive result.
And, as I said, it was the smallest speed drop on my list.
Even my second-fastest VPN, Surfshark, fell over 3 Mbps behind ExpressVPN (18.03 Mbps drop).
This means ExpressVPN will let you watch your favorite TLC shows in HD/4K without any buffering.
Imagine a clear picture as you laugh at Angela’s shenanigans!
(I might be obsessed with all 90 Day Fiancé variations…)
Moving on, ExpressVPN also has widespread support for dozens of devices, including Android TV, other Smart TVs, and game consoles.
The latter two are via its free Smart DNS service, MediaStreamer, which lets you change your DNS settings to ExpressVPN’s US DNS address(es).
Out of all the VPNs on my list, MediaStreamer is one of the best!
The other SmartDNS feature on my list that rivals MediaStreamer belongs to Surfshark.
Both features are equally impressive, reliably unblocking US content left and right.
Unfortunately, the same isn’t true for CyberGhost’s SmartDNS (sometimes unreliable), and PrivateVPN lacks the feature entirely.
And while NordVPN’s SmartDNS is mostly reliable, I’ve still struggled with it at times.
This makes ExpressVPN one of two reliable choices for enjoying TLC on your Smart TV or game console.
You’ll also get Roku support via the provider’s router setup.
Additionally, as I mentioned earlier, ExpressVPN is great at unblocking all streaming services.
This is especially important for accessing Hulu, which is how I watch TLC without a US cable license.
More on that later.
Now for ExpressVPN’s only downside.
It doesn’t offer a Dedicated IP or replacement feature (like static servers), so you can’t get a private US IP address for a more reliable experience unblocking TLC.
ExpressVPN is the only VPN on my list without any option.
On the bright side, I don’t think a Dedicated IP is necessary to get the most out of ExpressVPN and TLC.
As I said, I always get access on my first try!
Last, you might consider ExpressVPN’s premium price tag a downside as well. But you get what you pay for.
Luckily, I have an exclusive discount you can use to save more!
Pros
- Reliably unblocks TLC on all platforms (TLC website, TLC Go apps, and Hulu)
- 4K/HD streaming speeds
- 24 US servers for unlimited TLC access
- Compatible with all TLC devices, including Smart TVs and game consoles via MediaStreamer
- BONUS: unblocks other streaming services like Netflix, Disney Plus, and HBO Max
Cons
- More expensive than most providers
- No Dedicated IP add-on
Surfshark – Free US Static Servers for Unblocking TLC Worldwide
Surfshark is very deserving of second on my list of the top VPNs for TLC.
For starters, it’s the only VPN with free static servers (included with any subscription)!
These are a nice alternative to Dedicated IPs, with the caveat that they’re shared with other users.
Normally, this might mean they’re useless for unblocking TLC. But Surfshark’s static IPs are an exception!
They’re actually my go-to servers for watching TLC content (there are five static US servers in New York).
PrivateVPN is the only VPN on my list with a similar feature, though it focuses on unshared dynamic servers instead of shared static servers.
The former might actually be more reliable. But both are great options!
In any case, it’s better than having no Dedicated IP alternative, like ExpressVPN.
Moving on, Surfshark also has the third-highest number of US servers – 600+! This pushes the provider ahead of ExpressVPN and PrivateVPN.
In fact, the only reason Surfshark is second instead of first is speed.
It scored second, with a speed drop of 18.03 Mbps.
That’s still really good compared to the other VPNs on my list! And even compared to ExpressVPN, Surfshark only falls behind by 3 or so Mbps.
Either way, you’re guaranteed to enjoy 4K and HD TLC streaming without buffering, no matter how far you are from the US server(s).
So, you won’t miss golden quotes like, “Bring me my red bag with my MAKEUP!” (Okay, Anfisa… Jeesh.)
Plus, like ExpressVPN, Surfshark is compatible with pretty much any device, including Roku TV, Apple TV, Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices – and, as mentioned earlier, game consoles and Smart TVs via Surfshark’s SmartDNS feature.
AKA: if you want to watch My 600 lb. Life on the big screen, you’re in luck!
Surfshark is one of two VPNs on my list that will get the job done with zero struggle.
But if you want the MOST savings, use this link to sign up!
Pros
- Reliably unblocks TLC on all platforms (TLC website, TLC Go apps, and Hulu)
- 4K/HD streaming speeds
- 600+ US servers for unlimited TLC access
- Compatible with all TLC devices, including Smart TVs and game consoles via SmartDNS
- Free shared static servers
- BONUS: unblocks other streaming services like Netflix, Disney Plus, and HBO Max
Cons
- Slower than ExpressVPN
NordVPN – The Most US Servers for Unlimited Access to TLC (1,970+)
NordVPN has the most US servers on my list – what a great start! Specifically, you’ll get 1970+ US servers to unblock TLC worldwide.
With so many servers, it’s no surprise NordVPN also has blazing-fast speeds.
Okay, so it actually placed fourth in my tests, with a speed drop of 21.11 Mbps. But that’s still really good!
It’s also worth mentioning that PrivateVPN just barely beat NordVPN.
The provider had a speed drop of 23.06 Mbps, so consider it a tie instead!
NordVPN promises ultra-fast streaming speeds with no buffering, regardless, so you can enjoy Sister Wives in 4K/HD whenever you want, wherever you are.
NordVPN also has a unique feature that only one other VPN on my list boasts: a Dedicated IP add-on.
If you’re willing to fork over the extra yearly fee (between $70 and $76), this is a sure-fire way to get unlimited access to TLC without risking getting blacklisted!
You’ll need to choose a US IP, but then you can unblock most (if not all) US streaming platforms, from TLC, Amazon Prime, and Hulu to Netflix, HBO Max, and Disney Plus.
Speaking of Hulu, NordVPN’s normal servers can unblock the streaming platform, too.
This is good, as it’s one of the best options for watching TLC without a cable license!
(Keep reading after my reviews for more info on that!)
And that’s only the start of what NordVPN can unblock without a Dedicated IP.
The catch is that it sometimes takes longer to find a working server, especially for TLC, and support’s recommended ones don’t always work.
But a little trial and error isn’t a deal-breaker!
As for device compatibility, NordVPN is another VPN provider that supports any device you can think of!
This includes Roku, along with Smart TVs and game consoles, thanks to its SmartDNS.
However, NordVPN’s Smart DNS feature isn’t as reliable as ExpressVPN and Surfshark’s.
To clarify, I used NordVPN’s SmartDNS to unblock Amazon Prime, another option for watching TLC, around 12 times since its release.
I succeeded maybe half of the time. But there is hope that this is because the feature is so new.
Perhaps it will be more reliable in the future!
The other downside to SmartDNS is that TLC access is restricted to Amazon Prime. I tried going to the TLC website using my LG Smart TV’s web browser, and it didn’t work.
Likewise, Hulu isn’t supported (yet?).
This means the only way to watch Danielle curse out Mohamed on the big screen is through Prime Video (or an HDMI, etc.) – which is disappointing when you consider that Prime still asks you to pay for the TLC content on top of your Prime subscription.
But, to end with good news, NordVPN is very affordable!
You’ll enjoy long-term savings and a fair monthly plan.
Don’t forget to claim my super discount when you sign up!
Pros
- Reliably unblocks TLC on all platforms (TLC website, TLC Go apps, and Amazon Prime)
- 4K/HD streaming speeds
- 1970+ US servers for unlimited TLC access
- Compatible with all TLC devices, including Smart TVs and game consoles via SmartDNS
- Dedicated IP add-on
- BONUS: unblocks other streaming services like Netflix, Disney Plus, and HBO Max
Cons
- SmartDNS is limited and not as reliable as the top two VPNs for TLC
- Unblocking TLC can require some trial and error with US servers
PrivateVPN – Free Private Dynamic Servers for Easy TLC Access (24/7)
Next is PrivateVPN, the provider with the feature to counterpart Surfshark’s shared static servers.
Specifically, you’ll get a handful of private dynamic servers, including two US locations.
These can be more useful than the static servers, depending on what platform you use to watch TLC.
For example, suppose you use the TLC Go website.
In that case, PrivateVPN’s Dedicated IP servers change your IP every time you (re)connect, making them a great method for binging 90 Day Fiancé and Dr. Pimple Popper without getting blacklisted.
On the other hand, if you watch TLC through Hulu, it’s hit-or-miss whether PrivateVPN’s unshared dynamic servers will be more reliable than Surfshark’s shared static servers.
It’ll require a bit of testing! But speaking of Hulu, PrivateVPN unblocks it effortlessly.
So, if you can’t get a US cable license, PrivateVPN will help you enjoy your favorite TLC shows on the streaming platform instead.
Plus, PrivateVPN also unblocks services like Netflix and Disney Plus!
But now it’s time to discuss the VPN service’s flaws and why it places fourth.
First, it only has 12 or so US servers.
Luckily, this isn’t as detrimental as it could be, thanks to the dynamic servers (which technically give you infinite US servers).
But not every private dynamic server is guaranteed to unblock the TLC website (Hulu isn’t an issue), so if trial and error isn’t your thing, you’re stuck with the 12+ shared US servers.
And considering that’s the lowest number on my list, I had to factor it in.
The bright side is that PrivateVPN’s shared US servers are still reliable for accessing TLC…most of the time.
However, if you find that all of the current US servers aren’t working, you’re stuck with the private dynamic IP servers instead.
The second flaw has to do with PrivateVPN’s device compatibility.
While there’s support for many devices to watch TLC on, like Roku, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android, there’s no SmartDNS feature.
This means there’s no easy solution for enjoying Sister Wives, My 600 lb. Life, etc., on game consoles and (most) Smart TVs.
PrivateVPN is the only VPN on my list with no SmartDNS whatsoever.
This sucks because even CyberGhost and NordVPN have something to work with. But I do have good news to end with.
First, PrivateVPN scored third in my speed tests, though, as mentioned above, it might as well have tied with NordVPN.
It had a 23.06 Mbps drop, while NordVPN had a 23.11 Mbps drop.
Tie or not, expect PrivateVPN to give you buffer-free TLC streams in 4K and/or HD!
All the better for watching Dr. Pimple Popper do her thing on a clear picture.
Last, PrivateVPN is extremely affordable, with the lowest monthly plan on my list. Take a look:
Plus, with this HUGE discount, you’ll save even more!
Pros
- Reliably unblocks TLC on Hulu and mostly unblocks TLC Go
- 4K/HD streaming speeds
- Compatible with most TLC devices, including PC and smartphone/tablet
- Free private dynamic servers
- BONUS: unblocks other streaming services like Netflix and Disney Plus
Cons
- Only 12+ US servers (shared)
- Dedicated IP servers sometimes require trial and error for all TLC platforms
- Shared servers sometimes don’t unblock TLC Go
- No SmartDNS feature
CyberGhost – Dedicated Servers for Streaming + Tons of US Servers
Last is CyberGhost – the only VPN on my list with dedicated streaming servers!
Every streaming server even has a “use case,” like Hulu, Sling TV, Amazon Prime, Netflix, and other major streaming services.
This is great for watching TLC on Hulu and Sling TV.
The catch is that, sometimes, the dedicated servers don’t work. It’s been this way for as long as I’ve used and tested CyberGhost.
But it’s not always the case.
For example, I have more issues with Hulu than Sling TV.
Luckily, CyberGhost’s regular US servers always pick up the slack (though they require trial and error).
Or, sometimes, the dedicated server for Hulu Firestick works for Hulu on PC.
There is another consideration, though.
Unblocking TLC Go requires the same amount of trial and error, if not more.
There are no dedicated streaming servers for it, for starters, though you might luck out with a different streaming server.
Otherwise, CyberGhost’s regular US servers will eventually deliver a working solution.
All in all, that’s not a terrible deal, especially considering there are 1753+ US servers to choose from (the second-biggest allotment on my list).
But it is more work than the other VPNs, which is one reason the VPN provider sits in last.
Now for better news.
CyberGhost has an extremely affordable Dedicated IP add-on.
Not only can you choose from numerous plans (1-month, 1-year, 2-years, and 3-years), but you’ll get savings on long-term plans.
Plus, every plan is cheaper than NordVPN!
For example, you’ll pay $135 for 3 years, with a total of 25% off.
So, if you want to watch Before the 90 Days on TLC Go, Sling TV, or Hulu, without risking a shared server getting blacklisted (or dealing with trial and error), just grab a US Dedicated IP and enjoy!
Really, CyberGhost is the best option on my list if you want a Dedicated IP.
If I placed the VPNs solely on that, it would’ve ranked higher.
But still not first. Why? Because CyberGhost placed last in my speed tests.
This also wasn’t a surprise, as the VPN regularly places last.
I had a speed drop of 31.67 Mbps – quite far from NordVPN’s 23.11 Mbps.
But there’s a silver lining.
If you get a Dedicated IP, you’re sure to see a slightly smaller speed drop.
But even if you opt for the normal (or dedicated) servers, CyberGhost is still fast enough for enjoying TLC content in HD and possibly 4K (depending on your base internet speed).
There’s one last thing to consider.
CyberGhost supports most TLC devices, including Roku, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and more.
It also has a Smart DNS feature.
However, despite having several options (including a geolocation US SmartDNS address), its SmartDNS only unblocks TLC via Hulu, and, sometimes, it doesn’t work.
This is a pain if you get your DNS settings configured, only to realize it’s not working.
It’s also very limited compared to the other SmartDNS features on my list, like ExpressVPN’s MediaStreamer and Surfshark’s SmartDNS.
But it’s better than no SmartDNS feature at all!
Let’s end on a good note.
CyberGhost is another very affordable VPN (long-term plans, especially):
Don’t forget to use my GIANT discount if you sign up!
Pros
- Reliably unblocks TLC on Hulu, Sling TV, and TLC Go with some trial and error
- Dedicated streaming servers
- HD (and maybe 4K) streaming speeds
- Compatible with most TLC devices, including SmartDNS for Smart TVs and game consoles
- Affordable Dedicated IP add-on
- 1753+ US servers for TLC access
Cons
- Slower than the other VPNs on my list
- SmartDNS only works for Hulu and not all the time
- Unblocking TLC on any platform might require trial and error
- As such, streaming servers don’t always work
How to Find the Best VPN for TLC?
Finding the best VPN for TLC has several requirements.
I’ll discuss all of them in the following sections, so you can make an informed decision!
Let’s hop in.
Itching to Catch Up on Sister Wives? My Checklist Will Help You Find the Best VPN for TLC!
I’ll start with the handy checklist I made of all the must-have features your VPN should offer, such as fast streaming speeds and support for most TLC devices.
Come, take a closer look.
Unblocks TLC Worldwide (& US Servers)
No matter where you are in the world, your VPN should reliably unblock TLC.
But there’s more to it than that.
Namely, there are two primary ways to watch TLC: the TLC Go website/app or a streaming platform with a TLC licensing agreement (like Hulu).
Ideally, your VPN will unblock all of these platforms, so you have many choices for streaming your favorite content, like 90 Day Fiancé and Sister Wives.
Of course, you’ll also need US servers to do so – so look for those. Typically, the more US servers your VPN has, the better.
But there are exceptions, like ExpressVPN, which reliably unblocks TLC with just 24 US servers.
Either way, to ensure your VPN meets these requirements, use its money-back guarantee.
Purchase a subscription, test each platform, and ask for a refund if your VPN doesn’t deliver. Oh, and if your VPN doesn’t have a money-back guarantee, find a new one.
HD/4K Streaming Speeds
If you want to enjoy watching your favorite TLC shows without buffering, you need a VPN with HD/4K streaming speeds.
Many VPNs claim to offer this. Many are lying. The best way to test this claim is by using the money-back guarantee again.
Buy a subscription, test the speeds while streaming, and get a refund if you’re unsatisfied.
Alternatively, grab the fastest VPN for TLC right now!
Remember, I have an exclusive ExpressVPN discount to save you BIG bucks.
Device Compatibility
There are many ways to stream TLC shows – on your PC, smartphone, tablet, Roku device, Firestick, game console, Smart TV, etc.
This means your VPN needs to support your favorite TLC devices.
Some are easy to find support for, like PC and mobile apps. But things like game consoles and Smart TVs are trickier.
Preferably, your VPN will have a SmartDNS feature that lets you access TLC on the big screen without much sweat.
If not, a router setup might do (and will cover your Roku, as well). Just ensure you check all supported devices before purchasing a sub!
US Dedicated IP
If your VPN offers a Dedicated IP add-on with US locations, I recommend taking advantage of it.
This is a sure-fire way to get unlimited access to all TLC platforms without your IP getting blacklisted.
If there’s no Dedicated IP add-on, an alternative feature might work, like Surfshark’s static servers or PrivateVPN’s dedicated IP servers.
Remember, research and test your options before committing (including any extra cost)!
Price
Last but not least, look at all your VPN options to ensure you’re getting the best deal.
In a perfect world, you can buy several VPN subscriptions and test them with TLC platforms for a few weeks before choosing your favorite and getting a refund on the others.
But if that’s not possible, ensure you’re choosing the right VPN for you AND your budget!
Will a Free VPN Stream TLC Outside the US?
The chances of finding a free VPN that works with any TLC platform is next to none.
At most, you might have access for a couple of hours before the IP is blacklisted. But I don’t recommend using any free VPN if you can help it.
Your speeds won’t be good enough to thoroughly enjoy your favorite TLC shows, for starters.
On top of that, many free VPNs are unreliable, unsafe, and untrustworthy. Instead, stick to a premium provider that fits your budget.
Remember, you can get a STELLAR discount on the best VPN for TLC right here!
How to Watch TLC From Outside the US With a VPN (for Free)?
You can watch TLC from outside the US for free with a VPN, but you won’t have access to many episodes or seasons.
For example, My 600 lb. Life only offers the first season for free. And 90 Day Fiancé, the latest season, and a few miscellaneous episodes.
But if you don’t want any cost besides your VPN, it’ll have to do!
So, here’s how to access TLC Go with your VPN:
- Choose one of my recommended VPNs (or a VPN you found after thorough research) with US servers and purchase a subscription. Here’s a recap of the ones on my list:
VPN Provider: | US Servers: |
---|---|
ExpressVPN | 24 |
Surfshark | 600+ |
NordVPN | 1970+ |
PrivateVPN | 12+ |
CyberGhost | 1753+ |
- Download and install the VPN app on your TLC Go device(s).
- Open the VPN app and sign in to your account.
- Find a US server and connect to it.
- Open your browser and check for IP, DNS, and WebRTC leaks.
- Navigate to the TLC Go website or open the TLC Go app.
- Select the show you want and look for episodes without the “key” icon.
- Enjoy watching TLC worldwide for free with a VPN!
Can I Get a US Cable Subscription to Watch TLC?
The only way to get a US cable subscription from outside the US is to ask your family or friend in the US for theirs.
This is a reliable method if you have friends who trust you not to abuse the privilege, as it gives you unlimited access to every TLC show, season, and episode for free (minus the cost of the US cable subscription).
However, if you don’t have access to a US cable subscription, there are other ways to watch TLC.
I’ll discuss those next.
How to Watch TLC Without Cable License?
First, you can use a VPN to watch select free episodes of most shows on the TLC Go website or app. But that’s very limited.
The next best option is to buy a subscription to a streaming service with TLC licensing agreements.
My top recommendations are Hulu + Live TV (the latter is required for TLC content) and Sling TV.
I usually opt for Hulu, but you might prefer Sling TV or even one of the other platforms.
All in all, you can watch TLC on:
- Hulu + Live TV
- Sling TV
- Philo
- Fubo TV
- DirecTV Stream
- YouTube TV
- Amazon Prime (requires purchasing TLC content)
FAQ
Is TLC Go Free?
Some content on TLC Go is free.
You can use a US VPN server to watch select TLC shows, episodes, and seasons – without paying a dime – via the TLC Go website or app.
But suppose you have access to a US cable subscription.
In that case, all TLC Go content is free, along with all of TLC’s network partners, like the Food Network, Investigation Discovery, the Travel Channel, Discovery, and more.
Does TLC Block VPNs?
Any platform that supports TLC content will block VPNs, including TLC Go, Hulu, Sling TV, etc.
For example, the TLC Go website will display an error page if it detects your VPN.
This is why it’s essential to find a reliable VPN to unblock TLC, like ExpressVPN or Surfshark.
The best VPNs are never detected.
What Shows Are on TLC Go?
There are over 120+ shows on TLC Go, though many are spin-offs of original shows.
For example, 90 Day Fiancé now has Before the 90 Days, The Other Way, Happily Ever After, After the 90 Days, The Single Life, various Pillow Talks, and various spin-offs dedicated to stars from the show.
Other popular shows you can watch on TLC Go include Sister Wives, My 600 lb. Life, Dr. Pimple Popper, Addicted to Marriage, A Baby Story, and 1000 lb. Sisters.
How Do I Watch 90 Day Fiance With VPN?
To watch 90 Day Fiance with a VPN, choose a reliable VPN service that unblocks TLC platforms, connect to a US server, and navigate to a website/app with TLC content.
Your VPN will let you watch 90 Day Fiance to your heart’s content on all your streaming devices.
Conclusion
As a fellow TLC lover living outside of the US, I hope you discovered your perfect VPN for binging the best drama reality TV in the entertainment industry!
My top choice remains ExpressVPN – but maybe I’m biased because my favorite activity is watching 90 Day Fiancé on my PS4 with MediaStreamer!
It hasn’t wronged me yet.
