How Does Smart DNS Work?
A Smart DNS works by forcing web servers to check your DNS address before looking at your IP address. Since these web servers only need to know where you’re from, it takes the location data from your Smart DNS and runs with it.
A Domain Name System (DNS) is usually associated with a country of origin, which can help web servers determine where you’re browsing/streaming from.
However, most web servers check your IP address before your DNS since that’s a faster way to determine where you’re browsing from. With the Smart DNS, that process is reversed.
In other words, your IP address remains the same. So, the service will know where you’re genuinely browsing from if it bypasses the DNS checks and goes for the IP check instead.
