You can play Word of Warcraft with Surfshark!
I regularly use Surfshark with the fantasy MMORPG in my dorm since our school network is slow and unstable, rendering my Arena showdowns unplayable.
Specifically, I use Surfshark’s WireGuard protocol to lower my ping and challenge opponents in boss raid PVP matches without latency issues.

How to Play World of Warcraft With Surfshark on PC?
Earn XPs without speed drops and disconnections by quickly setting up Surfshark with WoW on your PC. Here’s how:
- Purchase a Surfshark subscription (enjoy savings).
- Download the Surfshark app for your device. For this guide, I’ll download the Surfshark Windows app.
- Log in to the Surfshark app with your credentials.
- Enable the Surfshark Kill Switch. This kills your internet if the VPN disconnects, so admins won’t see your WoW activities on networks where the game is blocked. Go to Settings > VPN Settings and toggle on the Kill Switch.
- Select the WireGuard protocol for fast speeds on bandwidth-intensive missions or quests. Go to Settings > Protocol and select WireGuard.
- Connect to the Surfshark server closest to your WoW server for a stable gaming experience. Choosing an appropriate Surfshark server also ensures reliably unblocking the title in geo-restricted regions.
- Ensure the Surfshark connection is secure from your ISP, network admins, and gaming opponents by checking for leaks. Your assigned IP address should match that of the test site.
- That’s it! I used Surfshark’s US – New York server to join the US Akama server and play with American gaming peers.
I also tested whether I could play the game in mainland China with minimal lag since the Chinese servers were shut down.
I connected to Surfshark’s Taiwan server for lag-free gaming on the WoW Taiwanese Bleeding Hollow server with in-game pings between 30ms and 60ms.
This was also the case for Surfshark’s Korean servers.
I accessed the Korean Hellscream realm to pull multiple mobs with minimal latency, thanks to the low in-game pings (45ms to 70ms).
And while connecting to Surfshark’s US – Miami servers resulted in slightly higher pings (90ms-140ms), I enjoyed decent speeds on the American WoW Alterac Mountains realm.
