Speaking of its port forwarding, it beats ExpressVPN by offering remote ports on PC. I enjoy this by setting up its port forwarding to access my Ring doorbell cameras via the PC virtual router model.

However, a VPN can keep the manufacturer from identifying you with the collected IoT data since your IP address is randomized. Still, they can use the device’s unique identifier (like IMEI) to get this information.
