The official status

Roblox in the UAE

The UAE’s regulator said in March 2021 that Roblox wasn’t banned, and it is still available there.

On 4 September 2025, after talks with the regulator, Roblox switched off in-game chat in the UAE and promised better Arabic-language moderation. In June 2026 Roblox said chat would stay off in most of the Middle East until that moderation matures, and no date has been given for bringing it back.

What our daily test shows

Our test checks whether the Roblox website opens, and it does. It can’t see in-game chat, which is switched off in the UAE.

Staying private in the UAE

Roblox works in the UAE today. A VPN is still worth having: it encrypts your connection on hotel, café and airport Wi-Fi and keeps what you do online private from the network you’re on.

Changes for Roblox in the UAE

No confirmed changes since monitoring began on 29 Sep 2026. When a block appears or lifts, and a re-check on several machines agrees, it shows up here.

Method

How we test

  • Every day, test machines on Etisalat home connections open www.roblox.com.
  • A failure counts only when it happens twice on the same network, while the site opens from other countries.
  • A change is published only after re-checks a few hours later and again the next day, on several machines per provider, confirm it. It’s dated from the first sighting.
  • Test machines caught getting around blocks, through a VPN or a filter-dodging tool, are set aside.
  • We test the website over home broadband. The app, calls and mobile networks can behave differently.
